Instructions

Cook macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain.

Melt butter in the same pot over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.

Slowly whisk in milk, a little at a time, until smooth.

Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat. Stir in shredded cheddar until melted.

Season with salt, mustard powder, garlic powder, and pepper.

Add drained macaroni and toss to coat. Serve immediately.
